Overview

Accounting Specialist II

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join the finance team at their central business office in Eugene, OR. Under general supervision, this role prepares, processes, and supports accounting activity as assigned for preparation of monthly financial statements as well as assisting with posting and processing of accounting transactions. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $22.00 - $25.00. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Employment Type: Full Time - 1.0 FTE (40 hrs/week)

Responsibilities

- Assists in preparation of monthly financial reports.

- Assists in balancing ledgers.

- Sorts, codes, alphabetizes, verifies bills, charge slips, receipts.

- Assists with review and distribution of monthly statements.

- Assists with monthly closing process through preparation of journal entries, account analysis, preparation of bank reconciliations and creation of supporting documentation.

- Assists with the coordination and processing of A/P and payroll for assigned area. Verifies, processes, and maintains all required information by scheduled deadlines and supports actions with appropriate documentation.

- Works closely with practice management to provide assistance as directed.

- Responsible for coding invoices into the standard chart of accounts.

- Reviews payments to ensure that proper authorization and documentation of receipt are obtained.

- Maintains required records, reports, and files.

- Prepares and mails invoices.

- Assists in preparing financial reports.

- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with managers and members of other departments.

- Maintains strict confidentiality of practice and/or patient information.



Qualifications

- Associate's degree preferred. Minimum two to five years of accounts payable experience

- Quick learner, great attention to detail, and a self-starter.

- Strong Excel and data entry skills.
