HR Generalist

Temporary (approximately 3 months) full-time, Monday-Friday with possibility of being on-call after temporary assignment

Hybrid - 3 days/week in-office - 2 days remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

New Hire and Status Change Process

  • Coordinate receipt of all new hire materials from the recruiter and the new employee, including tracking and assuring receipt of needed documents
  • Manage prospective new employee paperwork and follow up with reminders as needed
  • Make up new employee file
  • Verify social security number
  • Send out announcement email(s)
  • Follow-up on missing documents and information with new employee and manager
  • Conduct initial Criminal History Checks (CHC) on all new hires
    • Manage the specific state CHC requirements
    • Submit new state criminal history checks, requesting fingerprints when necessary
    • Run vendor criminal history check on every new employee
    • Review final results
      • Gather additional information as needed including interviewing candidates as appropriate
    • Discuss exceptions with supervisor
  • Coordinate initial start date
    • Communicate with new hire, area rehab director, director of rehab, etc. on any aspect of new hire material which requires a delay in starting employment
    • Respond to field inquiries about new employees
    • Enter data into payroll and HRIS systems
    • Set up access to Employee Springboard and other password accesses when appropriate
    • Send out new hire information to the director of rehab and employee
  • Monitor HR compliance issues including initial hire licensure and completion of I-9

Employee Experience

  • Have a working knowledge of Infinity Rehab's policies and procedures
  • Provide support to HR Manager in resolution of basic employee relations issues
  • Supports learning and development initiatives as needed
  • Supports Infinity Rehab's culture and DEIB initiatives as needed
  • Supports HR team in engaging in proactive communication with managers and employees

Leaves

  • Communicatee with employees needing a leave and set up leave file
  • Collect leave documents and determine priority
  • Prepare leave documents for employees as leave dates come up (including but not limited to short-term/long-term disability, accident claim forms, all state/federal posters/company policies/physical capacity evaluation documents for medical leaves
  • Follow up and update leaves as needed

Workers Compensation

  • Provide employees with information on completing a work
  • Notify HR Manager of any new employee injuries

Benefits

  • Assist with employee benefit inquires
  • Send benefit enrollment reminders for new hires and status changes
  • Provide administrative support during annual open enrollment including assisting with employee questions

Additional Duties

  • Supports special projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Attend company meetings as requested
  • Assist with other activities as directed by the Vice President of People and Culture or HR manager
Qualifications
  • High school degree or equivalent with 1-2 years of work in Human Resources or education/additional certifications in Human Resources
  • Exceptional relational skills to communicate effectively over the phone as well as in person
  • Excellent detail orientation and accuracy
  • The ability to successfully multi-task and handle interruptions
  • The ability to work successfully as part of a team
  • Lift up to 30 pounds
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office products
